Henry Pierrrpont/Manverse - Walter Scott Louden

While these stories are interesting and contain some documented fact, I suspect that some of the accounts here are somewhat exaggerated. Mildered worked for a number of years as a librarian in the library of congress and I am to assume that much of what she relates in these pages (scans of her typed pages) is based in truth. Our own verbal history suggests to me that the Lowdens/Loudens had a flair for invention and were great story tellers. As a boy growing up with relatives in New Mexico, I enjoyed an ongoing correspondence with Orren where he told me wonderful stories about his experiences and exploits. Unfortunately, I no longer have those wonderful letters and time has blurred their images for me to a point that I cannot repeat them for you. Suffice to say that Orren too was a great story teller.
